In 2024, Dave was awarded the South of England's Long Service Award for 40 years of coaching athletics at all levels of the sport from Club to Regional to National Level, and in those years he has played a big role in the development of the sport:

 - Whilst acting as the North of the Tames Regional Performance Manager for the British Athletics Regional National Coach, by:

          a). Oranising and running regional coaching workshops, and                            b). Organising running and tutoring regional coach education                                courses.

 - Through HaWaC, by:

          a). Establishing, organising and running inter-school athletics                                  competitions;                                                                                                                b). providing coaching and advice and support to school teachers                        and their pupils;                                                                                                              c). Ogansing and running young leaders for secondar schools;

 - When acting as the England Athletics astern Regional Combined Events Coach by organsing, running and coaching promising young combined event athletes.
